LGBT+ History Month
We are celebrating LGBT+ History/Awareness Month in the UK between 1-28 February 2021.
Featuring the stunning Gilbert typeface that was created as a tribute to honor Gilbert Baker, the creator of the iconic Rainbow Flag. This colorful typeface was designed to express diversity and inclusion. It is part of the TypeWithPride initiative, a collaboration between NewFest, NYC Pride, Ogilvy and Fontself.
LGBT+ History Month is an annual celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and non-binary history, including the history of LGBT+ rights and related civil rights movements. In the United Kingdom it is celebrated in February each year, to coincide with the 2003 abolition of Section 28. LGBT+ History Month was initiated in the UK by Schools Out UK and first took place in February 2005. The event is intended to raise awareness of, and combat prejudice against, LGBT people and history.
If you think this would be useful to others please give it a share to spread awareness!
